BIS Frucon Engineering provided Architectural and Engineering services including: the layout and planning, process piping, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and architectural design services in two phases. Phase one provided schematic design and phase two the generation of construction documents. BIS Frucon Engineering will also provide construction contract administration Phase Three services. BIS Frucon Engineering is currently beginning the initial design for the balance of the departmental needs for additional lab, office and conference rooms. When complete, the overall project is expected to provide a total of approximately 18,000 square feet of finished space to the University for nanotechnology research. |
BIS Frucon Engineering prepared Architectural and Engineering plans and specifications for competitive bidding for the construction of the new Center for Materials Innovation for Nanotechnology Research. The facility is located at in the existing Earth and Planetary Sciences Building at the corner of Forest Park Parkway and Hoyt Drive. The project included Class 100, Class 1000 and Class 10,000 areas as well as support areas for utilities, gowning and wipe down rooms. The facility consists of approximately 1,185 square feet of clean rooms of varying classifications, 205 square feet of gown room, and 760 square feet for the primary mechanical room, for a total project area of 2,150 square feet.
