BIS Frucon served as the design subcontractor to Centennial Contractor Enterprises (CCE) for the renovations to an existing 114,000 square foot Marine Corps Exchange, shopping mall, and a 1,000 square foot covered exterior space and entry canopy. The design included programming, site planning, conceptual design and the development of demolition and construction documents for the exterior and interior renovation.

Interior renovations consisted of new retail space design including finishes, fixtures, merchandising displays, new HVAC and lighting improvements and fire protection upgrades. The exterior renovations consisted of a new covered entry, exterior finishes, signage and landscaping.

The project required phasing of the design and a unique construction method of delivery to minimize the impact on retail operations. The design drawings were developed utilizing AutoCAD and Microstation. Construction phase and quality assurance services were also provided. Critical elements of the design were closely coordinated with the users, the Army and the construction contractor to insure the structure would be built within the Army's budget. BID Frucon participated in a design charrette involving the user agency and the owner.
