BIS Frucon Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer at our Jacksonville office in Florida. This position requires considerable interaction with client personnel and the ideal candidate should require little supervision, demonstrate initiative, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities of this position include performing engineering designs and calculations for our industrial clients and require close attention to detail. Candidates must be able to write/review engineering specifications including design criteria and mechanical descriptions. The mechanical engineer supports proposal efforts through the preparation of scope documents, effort-hour estimates, and schedules for projects. The selected individual must have strong analytical and problem solving skills and be able to adapt and modify traditional techniques to solve complicated problems.
Preferred Design Experience:
- Industrial Consulting Engineering experience in the Pulp/Paper and Chemical Industries
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the installation and application of industrial mechanical equipment
- Experienced in the design of industrial piping systems (steam, water, air, etc.) including layout, sizing, stress analyses and pipe support design
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of various mechanical codes (ASME B31.1/
- 31.3, ASME Section VIII, API 620/650)
- Experienced in industrial ventilation and HVAC design
- Experienced in process equipment sizing and industrial equipment specifications
- Experienced in the use of piping stress analysis modeling software, AutoCAD and MS office applications
Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years experience in Mechanical Design
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required
