Job Summary:
Provide engineering management and detailed engineering to prepare plans, designs, and specifications for maintenance or modernization of facilities and systems within the Mechanical Engineering discipline.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Function as Mechanical Engineer including supervision of Designers and other Engineers
- Provides technical expertise in the Mechanical discipline, including piping systems (steam, water, air, process) including layout, sizing stress analysis and piping support design, equipment sizing and specification of process equipment
- Determines feasibility of engineering requests
- Oversees the progress of design work and assumes responsibility for Released for Construction (RFC) drawings / document
- Develops project scopes for construction estimates, and engineering design effort estimates
- Performs hands on design and preparation of drawings using CAD software
- Updates and reports project schedules on a regular basis
- Assumes role of technical resource to construction, client site engineering management and operating modules
- Keeps open communication with construction, client site engineering management, client operations and maintenance personnel
- Responsible for the overall quality of the Mechanical engineering packages
- Ensure the documentation of important matters
- Experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry a plus
Requirements:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
- PE registration in Florida or other state recognized by the State of Florida
- Minimum 10 years experience in detailed Mechanical Engineering design in industrial systems preferably in the Pulp and Paper Industry or similar heavy process industries
- Experienced in use of Microstation or AutoCAD software with regard to hands-on production of drawings
