Job Summary:
Our client is implementing a corporate packaging project (jug in a box) among 4-6 plants throughout the US and we will provide a packaging engineer with project management skills to assist in implementation of this project at each of the plants. The position will require extensive travel to to define and implement the plant requirements to incorporate the corporate packaging initiative.
Excellent communication skills are a fundamental requirement of this position to ensure expectations, intentions, progress reporting and technical disparities are articulated, solutions are proposed and the team buys into the selected option. The successful candidate is self propelled with superb follow up skills, persistence and good judgment. Additional requirements include reporting regular progress of activities, ensuring the team meets the targeted budgets and schedules and working closely with the client to ensure hurdles are cleared.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Technical requirements include experience with packaging equipment, packaging materials, capital estimating, project scoping, vendor management, start-up and commissioning, and troubleshooting. TPM, 6-sigma and data validation experience is a plus. Food & Beverage, Consumer Products, and Pharmaceutical industry experience will be highly regarded.
This position requires extensive travel to the manufacturing plants and the client corporate offices in St Louis, MO. At least ten (10) years industrial process work experience is required including several years of design engineering experience and project coordination. The successful candidate could be located anywhere in the US in close proximity to a major airport.
